Project: Zanskar—Big data meets geothermal exploration

Bio: Carl Hoiland is an exploration geologist with experience researching the effects and timescales of plate tectonic interactions—including how those interactions control natural resource distributions—for both industry and academia. He holds a Ph.D. from the Dept. of Geological Sciences at Stanford University where he was an NSF Graduate Research Fellow and currently serves as visiting scholar as part of a geothermal research collaboration with the TomKat Center for Sustainable Energy.
