Jae Cho holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, where he was a postdoctoral researcher from 2012 to 2015 and an assistant research scientist from 2015 to 2020. The area of his expertise is in micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) high-precision inertial sensors. During his Ph.D. and postdoctoral training, Cho co-invented a novel ultra-high precision MEMS gyroscope technology called the Birdbath Resonator Gyroscope (BRG). In 2017, Cho co-founded Enertia Microsystems Inc. (EMI) with his academic advisor, Khalil Najafi, to commercialize the BRG technology.
