Project: ZestBio—Biobased products from food waste
Bio: Luke Latimer is co-founder and CSO of ZestBio. In this role, he has led strain engineering efforts and helped secure research grants including an NSF SBIR award. Prior to founding ZestBio in 2017, Latimer earned his B.S. in chemistry from Pacific Lutheran University and his Ph.D. in chemistry from UC Berkeley. His graduate work focused on engineering microbes for biofuel production and sustainable indigo dying methods and he is an author on two patents related to this work.
